The short version

Dyno is the safest first bot: its free tier already includes automod, tickets, a starboard and 25 custom commands, and Premium costs $49.99 per year for one server. MEE6 has the most polished dashboard and the widest social alert list, but its regular monthly price of $11.99 is the highest here. Sapphire is the best free option, with no paywalled features and an optional $2.99 limit increase. Carl-bot is the pick for heavy reaction role and logging setups. Arcane is best for leveling with voice XP, YAGPDB for scripting fans, Ticket Tool for support desks, ProBot for welcome images and anti-raid, and Apollo for servers that live around scheduled events.

Short answer

Dyno is the best Discord bot for most servers in 2026, pairing a generous free tier with premium from $4.17 per month billed yearly; MEE6 suits servers that want leveling, social alerts and an AI bot maker in one dashboard, and Sapphire is the cheapest paid option at $2.99 per month for unlimited limits on a bot that is otherwise free. All nine bots can be added to a server for free.

This list is for server owners and moderators picking a bot to run moderation, roles, welcome messages, leveling, alerts, tickets or events on Discord. We compared documented features and published premium prices for 9 bots: five all-in-one bots (Dyno, MEE6, Sapphire, Carl-bot and ProBot), the open-source YAGPDB, the leveling bot Arcane, and two specialists, Ticket Tool for support tickets and Apollo for events. Scores cover capabilities, ease of setup and value, weighted 40, 30 and 30. Discord bot premium is almost always priced per server, so the price you see covers one community, not one moderator. Server counts in the spec sheet are the vendors' own published figures. Prices are in US dollars as shown on each vendor's page on the day we checked; two vendors did not show a USD price we could confirm, and those are marked as pending.

    Price

Free plan; Premium from $4.17 per month billed as $49.99 per year for one server

Quoted from the Dyno pricing page on November 6, 2026: $4.17 / month Billed annually at $49.99

Dyno is built around moderation and a web dashboard that makes each module a toggle rather than a command to memorize. The free tier is unusually complete: starboard, tickets, automod, 3 customizable embeds, 25 custom commands, 10 autoresponders, 3 forms and 3 reaction role menus. Standard Premium adds levels, unlimited commands and modules, advanced automod, autopurge, slowmode and voice-text linking, and the Premium tier adds Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, Reddit and Kick integrations. Both list at $49.99 per year for one server, which Dyno shows as $4.17 per month. The Custom tier at $89.99 per year gives you a hosted bot with your own avatar, username and status. The limits are the main catch: 3 reaction role menus and 3 giveaways on the free plan will feel tight in a large community, and alerts sit one tier up from Standard. For most servers it is still the best balance of depth, setup effort and price.

    What it does well

    • +Free tier covers most moderation needs
    • +Premium works out to $4.17 per month on a yearly bill
    • +Fully hosted custom bot for $89.99 per year

    Where it falls short

    • −Social media integrations need the Premium tier, not Standard
    • −Free tier allows only 3 reaction role menus and 3 active giveaways

    MEE6

An all-in-one Discord bot with leveling, moderation, social alerts, an economy plugin and an AI bot maker, used by more than 21 million servers.

    Price

Free plan; Premium $11.99 per month ($5.99 for the first month during a current promotion), yearly and lifetime plans also offered

Quoted from the MEE6 pricing page on November 6, 2026: $11.99 $5.99 for the first month

MEE6 is the most familiar name on Discord and the most consumer-friendly: plugins are grouped into moderation, utilities, social alerts and games, and each one is configured from a clean web dashboard. Its leveling system, economy plugin, giveaways and birthday messages make it a strong engagement bot, and its social alerts cover more networks than any rival here, from Twitch and YouTube to Bluesky, Kick and podcasts. Bot Maker, a newer addition, uses AI to build custom commands, games and automations without code. Premium raises limits across the board, for example timed messages go from 1 to 100. The weak point is price. The regular monthly rate is $11.99 per server, and the page we checked was running a 50 percent promotion, so first-period prices move around. Yearly at $49.99 after the first year is far better value, and every plan is refundable for 7 days.

    What it does well

    • +Widest list of social alert sources in this comparison
    • +Premium is refundable for 7 days and transferable to another server
    • +Lifetime option for servers that dislike subscriptions

    Where it falls short

    • −Regular monthly price of $11.99 is the highest entry price here
    • −Prices on the page change with time-limited promotions
    • −Bot Personalizer is included on yearly and lifetime plans, not monthly

    Sapphire

    Price

Free plan with all features; optional Limit Increase $2.99 per month

Quoted from the Sapphire pricing page on November 6, 2026: $ 2.99 paid monthly

Sapphire takes the opposite approach to most bots: every feature is free, and the only paid product is a limit increase for servers that outgrow the defaults. Those features are substantial. Auto moderation has more than 10 modules and can add actions on top of Discord's own AutoMod, logging covers more than 80 event types, and notifications handle Twitch, YouTube and TikTok with stream messages that update live. Every message the bot sends can be edited in a built-in editor, which makes it easy to match a server's tone. Sapphire says it is in over 1.88 million servers, including large official communities. The Limit Increase costs $2.99 per month and sets all limits to unlimited, and owners can also ask for a single limit to be raised for free through the support forum. The gaps are in engagement: leveling is not among its headline features, so pair it with Arcane if XP matters.

    What it does well

    • +Core bot is free, with no feature paywall
    • +Single limit increases can be requested for free in the support server
    • +Cheapest paid option in this list at $2.99 per month

    Where it falls short

    • −Smaller install base than Dyno, MEE6 or Carl-bot
    • −No leveling system listed among its main features
    • −Custom branding is a separate product

    Carl-bot

A modular all-in-one Discord bot known for reaction roles, logging and TagScript custom commands, trusted by more than 15 million servers.

    Price

Free plan; Premium on Patreon from $7.99 per month for 1 server

    Quoted from the Carl-bot pricing page on November 6, 2026: 1 Server - $7.99

Carl-bot is the bot moderators reach for when roles get complicated. Its reaction role system supports up to 250 pairs per server and modes such as unique, verify, reversed, binding and temporary, which covers verification gates, color pickers and time-limited event roles. Moderation includes modlogs, timed punishments, sticky roles and a full infraction history, and logging records deletes, edits, joins, role changes, bans and invites across separate channels. Automod blocks bad links, spam, mass mentions and slurs with per-rule punishments. Custom commands use TagScript, which is flexible but takes some reading of the docs. Premium is sold on Patreon: Carl-bot's June 2025 price post lists 1 server at $7.99 and 8 servers at $35.99, and premium adds a custom avatar and banner, higher limits, levels, sticky messages and temporary channels. The dashboard is less guided than MEE6 or Dyno, so expect more setup time.

    What it does well

    • +Deepest reaction role system in this comparison
    • +Logging can be split across channels by event type
    • +Multi-server tiers, up to 8 servers for $35.99

    Where it falls short

    • −Premium is sold through Patreon rather than on carl.gg
    • −TagScript takes time to learn
    • −Prices rose in 2025 for new subscribers

    Arcane

A leveling-focused multipurpose Discord bot with message, reaction and voice XP, counters, moderation and YouTube alerts.

    Price

Free plan; Premium $7 per month or $75 per year

Quoted from the Arcane pricing page on November 6, 2026: $7/mo Billed every month

Arcane is the specialist for leveling. Every server gets message leveling, role rewards and leaderboards for free, and Premium adds voice leveling that skips members who are AFK, muted, deafened or idle, along with custom XP values, rank card backgrounds and weekly and monthly leaderboards. Around that core it is a capable general bot: channel counters, YouTube notifications, logging, welcome images, reaction roles and automod built on Discord's own AutoMod. The free plan is usable but tight in places, with 5 custom commands, 10 reaction roles and 1 hour of message logs. Premium costs $7 per month or $75 per year and raises those to 100 custom commands, 100 reaction roles and 12 hours of logs, and it includes a bot customizer for a custom name, avatar and banner. One premium purchase can be moved to another server once. If you already run Dyno or Sapphire for moderation, Arcane is a natural second bot.

    What it does well

    • +Voice XP, which most all-in-one bots do not offer
    • +Premium can be transferred to another server once
    • +Yearly plan at $75 saves over a month of fees

    Where it falls short

    • −Voice XP requires the premium bot
    • −Free tier allows only 5 custom commands
    • −Narrower moderation and alert features than Dyno or MEE6

    YAGPDB

Yet Another General Purpose Discord Bot: an open-source, highly configurable bot with feeds, role menus, automod and a template scripting language.

No US price was listed when we checked. See the YAGPDB pricing page.

YAGPDB is the power user's bot. Its custom commands accept starts with, contains, exact match and regex triggers and run on a template scripting language with database access, which lets experienced owners build small games, ticket flows or moderation tools inside Discord. The automoderator can mute, kick or ban after a set number of violations in a set timeframe, role menus support groups and single or multiple modes, and feeds cover Reddit within about a minute plus YouTube, Twitch and RSS. The project is open source, so owners who want full control can host their own copy. Premium slots come as a perk of supporting BotLabs' YAGPDB on Patreon and raise limits sharply, for example from 100 to 500 custom commands and from 25 to 150 automod rules. We could not confirm a USD price on a vendor page, so pricing is pending. The cost of all this power is effort: expect to spend time in the docs.

    What it does well

    • +Most powerful custom command scripting in this list
    • +Open source with a self-hosting option
    • +Free tier allows 100 custom commands

    Where it falls short

    • −Steepest learning curve of the bots here
    • −Premium is only available through Patreon, with no price on its own docs

    Price

Free Standard plan; Premium $7.99 per month

Quoted from the Ticket Tool pricing page on November 6, 2026: Premium Monthly $7.99 per month

Ticket Tool does one thing: private support tickets inside Discord. Members open a ticket from a panel button, optionally answering a form first, and the bot creates a private channel for them and your support roles. The free Standard plan already includes unlimited panels, transcripts and support roles, with a limit of 10 tickets a minute that only very busy servers will hit. Premium at $7.99 per month removes that limit and adds automatic transcripts, full embed customization, custom reactions, direct messages when tickets open or close, ticket claiming, automated closing and a faster premium-only bot. Custom tags let staff answer common questions with saved replies. The site reports more than 5.8 million servers and over 658 million tickets created. Dyno, MEE6 and ProBot now include ticket modules too, so a dedicated bot makes most sense when support volume is high or you need forms and transcripts.

    What it does well

    • +Unlimited panels and support roles on the free plan
    • +Focused tool that is quick to set up
    • +Large install base with over 658 million tickets created

    Where it falls short

    • −Does one job, so you still need a general bot

    Price

No US price was listed when we checked. See the ProBot pricing page.

ProBot is a long-running multipurpose bot best known for welcome images: owners design a card with the new member's username, avatar and a custom background, and the bot posts it on join. It also covers embed messages, self-assignable roles through reactions, buttons and select menus, and a leveling system that can reward members with roles, permissions and private channels. A tickets module is the newest addition. ProBot says it runs on more than 10.2 million servers. Premium Tier 2, which the premium page lists at $80 per year, is aimed at large servers and adds advanced anti-raid protection, more variables, a custom bot, server statistics and Twitch and YouTube notifications. The page we fetched showed only that tier with the yearly toggle selected, so we could not confirm the cheapest monthly price and mark pricing as pending. Feature depth is good, but rivals publish clearer pricing and more alert sources.

    What it does well

    • +Custom welcome image builder
    • +Tickets module added to the core bot
    • +Large install base of over 10.2 million servers

    Where it falls short

    • −Premium page shows only one tier as fetched, so the entry price is unclear
    • −Advanced anti-raid protection sits on a paid tier
    • −Fewer documented alert sources than MEE6 or Dyno

    Price

Free plan; Premium $6 per month billed annually ($72), Premium Pro $20 per month billed annually

Quoted from the Apollo pricing page on November 6, 2026: $6 per month ($72 billed annually)

Apollo is built for servers whose calendar is the point: raid groups, racing leagues, tabletop clubs and community meetups. Organizers create an event with a slash command or in the dashboard, and members sign up with one click on a button in the channel. Signup options can be custom, with per-option capacity, automatic waitlists and role restrictions, which fits raid rosters and race grids better than a yes, no, maybe poll. Apollo can open a thread per event, add attendees to it, assign a role on signup and send reminders. The free plan gives unlimited events but only 1 recurring event, 1 reminder per event and 2 months of history. Premium, at $6 per month billed annually, lifts those limits and makes Google Calendar sync automatic, while Premium Pro at $20 per month billed annually adds cross-posting to several servers and custom bot branding. It is a narrow tool, but it does its job well.

    What it does well

    • +Unlimited events on the free plan
    • +Premium is refundable within 7 days and transferable without limit
    • +Dashboard with drafts, schedule view and event archive

    Where it falls short

    • −Only for events, so you still need a general bot
    • −Free plan allows just 1 recurring event and 1 reminder per event

Before you pick a product or a plan

Start with one all-in-one bot

Dyno, MEE6, Sapphire, Carl-bot and ProBot each cover moderation, roles, welcome messages and logging. Running two of them side by side usually means duplicated commands and conflicting automod rules. Pick one as the core bot and add specialists such as Ticket Tool or Apollo only for jobs the core bot does poorly.

Check the free limits that matter to you

Free tiers differ more in limits than in features. Dyno's free plan allows 25 custom commands and 3 reaction role menus, MEE6 caps automations and custom commands below its Premium levels, and Arcane allows 5 custom commands and 10 reaction roles. Sapphire says its limits exist only to prevent abuse and lets you request a single increase for free.

Premium is per server

Dyno, MEE6, Arcane, Apollo and Sapphire price premium for one server, and several let you transfer it later. Carl-bot sells tiers by server count, from $7.99 for 1 server to $35.99 for 8. If you run several communities, compare the multi-server price rather than the entry price.

Custom branding costs extra on most bots

A bot with your server's own name and avatar is a common premium perk. Dyno's Custom plan costs $89.99 per year, Apollo puts custom name and avatar in Premium Pro at $20 per month billed annually, and MEE6 includes its Bot Personalizer on yearly and lifetime plans. Arcane includes a bot customizer in its single premium plan.
