Vercel is third because it gives front-end and full-stack JavaScript apps the shortest route to production, though it is less suited to always-on processes. You import a repo and deploy with automatic CI/CD and a global CDN with a Web Application Firewall and DDoS mitigation. Server code runs on Fluid compute with Active CPU pricing: 4 hours of Active CPU are included each month, then rates start at $0.128 per hour, and idle time is not billed. Function invocations include 1M a month, then start at $0.60 per 1M. Spend management sends alerts and stops usage at a limit you set. The Pro plan costs $20 a month and includes $20 of usage credit, team collaboration with free viewer seats and cold start prevention. The catches: Hobby is only for personal, non-commercial projects, and the function model fits webhooks and API routes better than bots that hold a socket open. For Next.js teams, it remains the default.
Who it is for
