Helicone review

Helicone is an observability tool with a gateway, and its prompt management rides on that gateway. You build a prompt in the playground, save it with commit history and tags, and then reference its ID in AI Gateway chat completion requests along with the inputs; Helicone assembles the final prompt, so iterating needs no rebuild or redeploy. Versions can be compared and rolled back instantly, and production, staging and development can run different versions. Variables work anywhere in the prompt, including tool schemas. Around this you get request logging, sessions, user analytics, caching, rate limits and fallbacks. Hobby is free with 10,000 requests and one seat, and Pro is $79 a month plus usage with unlimited seats and a 7-day trial. Two caveats: prompt management is documented for Chat Completions on the gateway, and the site currently states that Helicone is no longer part of Mintlify, with details to come, so check the roadmap before committing.
