Google Cloud Run is sixth: it is one of the most capable options for containers, but it asks for more setup than the platforms above it. You deploy a container or source code in any language and Cloud Run scales it, down to zero when no requests arrive. Services can use request-based billing, which includes 2 million requests, 180,000 vCPU-seconds and 360,000 GiB-seconds free every month, or instance-based billing for always-on work, with a separate free allowance. Jobs run batch and scheduled tasks, and on-demand NVIDIA L4 GPUs serve AI inference. Usage is billed for the resources you use, rounded up to the nearest 100 milliseconds, and committed use discounts cut the rate for steady loads. The free tier is shared across projects on a billing account and resets monthly. The downsides are the Google Cloud console, IAM and billing setup, plus a long list of SKUs and regional tiers. For teams already on Google Cloud, it is the natural home for APIs and bots.

Who it is for

Teams that already build containers and want them to scale to zero on Google Cloud.
