Gemini in Gmail review

For many Gmail users the cheapest route to an AI email assistant is the one already built in. Google lists Gemini in Gmail as part of Google AI Plus at $4.99 per month, a plan that also raises Gemini app limits to twice the free tier and adds 400 GB of storage across Gmail, Drive and Photos. The step up to Google AI Pro adds Gemini in Docs and higher limits. Because the assistant lives inside Gmail, setup is a subscription and nothing else. The trade-off is scope. Gemini works in Google's apps only, so Outlook or IMAP users gain nothing, and the plan page describes Gemini in Gmail in general terms rather than listing triage rules, auto drafts or follow-up tracking like the dedicated tools. Treat it as a capable writing and summarizing helper inside Gmail rather than an inbox autopilot.
